Taffeta is pretty light.  If I had to guess, I would say the gown doesn't weigh more than 5 llbs.  If you provide me with your email address, I can send you additional pictures of the actual dress.  Thanks for looking!

Tags still attached! Size: 8 Color: Ivory "'Glamorous and Elegant' describes this very classy creation. The bodice and waistline are accentuated with gathers that flatter by giving a slimming effect. Small rows of beads are delicately scattered to give the gown some sparkle and shine. Silky taffeta covered buttons line the back of the gown to the end of the train." I wear a size 10 or 12 pant, Large or extra Large top (depending on design), and a 38-40D (depending on line).  My main issue with it fitting on me was the proportion of my size to my height.  I'm just shy of 5'4", so it would be more difficult to alter than I wanted to deal with.  In the interim, I found a dress that fit perfectly off the rack.  So rather than pay for alterations, I'm opting for this avenue.  I have picture of me in it, too, if that would be helpful.  Let me know!

Thanks for your patience, bees!  I picked up the dress from the salon last night and took pictures this morning!  I'll be posting them as soon as I can pull them from the camera -- I'm having some issues with the card not reading on my personal computer.  (Of course!)  Hopefully the photo center at CVS will be the solution.    So...more to come on this dress very soon!!

Hi ladies !    Shaynicole -- I wear a size 12 typically and 40D and the dress is actually too big for me.  When we discussed the alterations, we were looking at taking in the waist about 2-3 inches, bringing the bust area in tighter (so it's not too revealing), and shortening the straps/arm holes.   Briannie -- I'm in the Philadelphia area and shipping would depend on the method you would prefer really.  We could agree on that based on your preference.   I have every intention of getting pictures, but actually need to pick it up from the bridal salon in Delaware before I can.  It will likely take a few days, possibly by early next week?

Hi Ladies! I have recently decided to go a different direction with my dress for our November wedding, so I'm selling my Casablanca #1831 dress. It's an absolutely stunning gown!  We ordered a size 18, which leaves some room to be taken in on my frame.  (I usually wear size 12 in "regular" clothing and a 40D in bras.) There have been no alterations or changes made to the gown, so it's yours to get fitting just right! I'm asking $500 for it, but will consider offers near that.  I paid $750 for the dress. Here are the details: Casablanca 1831 IVORY Gown with chapel train / french bustle. This flattering A-line dress has a v-neck and spagetti straps on the back. Light crystal beading on the bust and waist give it sparkle. Ruching (gathers) cover the area below the bust, and extend down to the waist, making it very flattering. A line of satin covered buttons start at the top of the back of the dress and extend all the way to the bottom of the train.  I wore it once briefly for my ceremony and had it professionally cleaned and boxed. The only alteration was to shorten the front hem. I am 5'6 and wore 3" heels. I also have a petticoat I can give you for free. Size: 12 approx. 38.5 bust, 29.5 waist, 40 hips, waist to floor 58"  I paid $950 and will sell for $500 obo.
