Selling Mrs. Lime's Ulla Maija 'Danielle' Dress

posted 10 months ago in For Sale

More photos here. I also have tons of photos of other brides in this dress I found on the internet as well as photos of the original owner in the dress.  I can email those upon request.

Size:  4.  I am normally a 2-4.
Bust:  34A, with cups  sewn into the lining.  These can be removed and/or replaced, if you wish.  The cups made it unnecessary to wear the bra, and I felt supported and comfortable throughout the day.
Waist:  25.5" The bodice can probably be let out no more than in inch and can definitely be taken in.
Hips:
35", but there is plenty of room as it’s A-line.
Length:
I am 5’-2” and wore 3.5” heels, and the skirt was a little too long on me.  The hem is a bit complicated due to the draping and bubble skirt, but it can be shortened and possibly let down a little bit.

This is an authentic Ulla-Maija Couture wedding dress, which is still part of the current collection as shown on ulla-maija.com.  It is made of a beautiful silk tissue taffeta in a diamond white color, which has a lovely and subtle sheen.  It was wonderfully breathable for my outdoor, summer wedding, but the weight of the dress’s construction and elegance make it suitable for more formal events as well.  It is understated, elegant, classic and modern at the same time.

The craftsmanship of the dress is impeccable.  The beautifully pleated bodice, exquisitely draped skirt, and detachable cathedral-length train truly set this dress apart.  It was very comfortable to wear throughout my wedding day. It has an A-line bubble skirt with a chapel-length train.  There is a three-point French bustle. It also has another, detachable, cathedral-length train that hooks onto the back of the bodice.  The elegantly pleated bodice is fitted, the back is V-cut slightly lower in a very flattering manner, and the dress closes with an invisible zipper and cloth-covered buttons over it.  This dress is very flattering on petite frames and does not overwhelm or swallow you up, as many wedding dresses with fuller skirts tend to do to smaller girls.

The dress was cut to fit its original owner who wore this dress in May 2006.  She had it professionally cleaned, and I bought it from her in almost new, impeccably clean condition in September 2006.  She did not alter it since it was cut to fit her.  My seamstress took the bodice in a little bit from the waist up and sewed size A bra cups into the lining of the dress.  She also re-did the three-point French bustle, as the original buttons were not secure.  I had no other alterations made.  I wore it only for my two fittings and then on my wedding day in August 2007.

The dress was professionally cleaned, preserved and boxed shortly after my wedding.  There are few stains on the underside of the skirt that could not be removed, but it is otherwise in excellent condition. If you are local to Southern California and seriously considering this dress, you are welcome to come try it on.

Price:  $1000 or best offer, plus shipping.

beautiful dress~

was it a snug fit or did you have to pull up your dress once in a while throughout the day? do you have any actual wedding photography pictures of your dress?

it fit me snugly as my alterations person did an awesome job.  i also had my final fitting only a week before the wedding to make sure it would fit then in case of any sudden changes in weight.

yes, i do have pro photos, some of which i have already blogged, but they don't show the details of the dress as well as some of these photos. the first photo is one from my photographer.  i will be blogging more pro photos soon, which will definitely have more photos.  http://www.weddingbee.com/author/miss-lime/

if you are seriously interested in the dress, i am happy to send you a few more via email. lime@weddingbee.com.  thanks.
