If you're looking for a dress that hugs your curves, has a simple style with intricate detail, and makes you feel like a showstopper, this Alvina Valenta dress is for you! I spent many months looking at Jim Hjelm and Alvina Valenta dresses because I liked the tight, curvy fit they have as well as the lace detail and high quality of material they have to offer. This particular dress is a mermaid/trumpet style, with lace around the bodice (from the top of the dress to about 8-10 inches down the torso) and lace covering the last foot or so at the bottom. In between it is plain silk satin, which allows the dress to hug you tightly without having any bulges or ugly folds from the lace. Also at the top (right above the breast) and at the bottom (just before it touches the ground) there is ribbon intertwinned with the lace, adding yet another subtle but unique detail you'll really love. The dress has a short train which was long enough the get that true "bride" effect, but not too long where you can't move comfortably without tripping over yourself. It has a bustle inside, so you can always tie it up after the ceremony.
I bought this dressed used, and now I have worn it, so it's been the star of two different weddings. It retails new for $3500, I bought it for $1600, and will now be selling it for $1000 for a couple of reasons. First, it will need to be be dry-cleaned, which will be around a $50-$100 depending on where you live. It has a couple of small stains (2 or 3 cm at the most) that will come out with a good dry cleaning, but I didn't have it done before selling it because it seemed pointless knowing it would get wrinkled again when I shipped it. Second, there are a couple of small areas on the bottom where the lace has strings hanging off and where you can see that someone stepped on it, so it is slightly discolored. The person I bought it from didn't disclose this when I bought it, so I was a little upset when I took it out of the box, but once I put it on, I realized you couldn't even notice it. I figured the discounted price was worth a couple of imperfections to have a designer dress that I loved.
Hi - This looks like the same picture I saw on preownedweddingdresses.com...are you trying to sell it there too? What is the street size of this dress? my email is cheribeaudoin at hotmail. THANKS
