I am getting married September 20, 2008 in Wilmington, NC on Wrightsville Beach. If you or anyone you know lives in the area, or is getting married around the same time, I would love to chat with them! I am planning from Atlanta, GA and would love to bounce off ideas! Thank you!
I'm getting married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in downtown Wilmington. Our reception is at The Balcony on Dock Street in downtown also. I went UNC-Wilmington so I'm familiar with the area. My fiancee is also a wedding photographer so he's friends with a lot of wedding vendors. I can recommend several in NC and Wilmington. Our florist is Jennifer from Salt Harbor Designs. Her designs are awesome! www.saltharbor.blogspot.com
Let me know if you have any questions with the planning. I'd love to help!
We're not getting married in Wilmington but we're getting married on Topsail Beach which isn't far from Wilmington. I have had to plan the wedding from Cincinnati, Ohio.
I am planning a wedding for next late Spring/early Summer in Wilmington, NC and am looking for suggestions, and feedback from anyone who has gotten married here! Thanks so much.
My best friend lived in Wilmington for the past 3 years. She was the director of music ministries at Saint Andrew's Covenant Presbyterian Church. (She recently moved to TN.) If you need an organist, there is no one better than John Tabler. Besides being an amazing musician, he loves doing weddings. He also has incredible connections and friends in high places.
Fort Fisher is a great place to get pictures taken. There are all of these great places- neat twisty trees, tall grasses, rocks and ocean. A group of us had pictures taken there.
There is a great downtown. I loved Elija's. It would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner. They have large deck area that is climate controled. There is also a really cute restaurant for high tea that is right on the boardwalk. If you are looking for something different to do with your girls, there is a fun fondue restaurant.
Basically, I know the area well. I traveled there every month last year (my friend's fiance was in Iraq). If you have any questions, you could hit up my email. It brings back great memories!!!
I went to UNC Wilmington and now live in Raleigh and getting married in raleigh. But will be going to Wilmington this weekend for engagement pics. I love it there. let me know if you need any ideas, etc....
I am getting married in Southport, NC (near Wilmington) in July 2009. All we really have booked is the location for ceremony and reception. I do know there is a wedding/bridal show/expo in Wilmington on Nov. 2nd and there should be oodles and oodles of vendors there for all areas. Personally, I may have some already decided on before then, but I may go just for fun. Not sure yet. I'm happy to discuss and share ideas and reviews as I stumble upon things. I looked at many locations in the area before deciding, if anyone has any questions.

Anything along the river and Outerbanks is fantastic for e-pics.
