I bought the wedding dress of my dreams at Monique Lhuillier Salon's sample sale for $1600. I am sad to part with it, but am feeling the guilt of overspending on my November 2007wedding and realized that my beautiful dress could sit in a box for the rest of my life or make someone else feel as beautiful on their wedding day as I did.
It was only worn for a few hours during my church ceremony and part of our reception. It was originally a street size 4 and I had it altered to a 2. I am 5'7" and wore 3" heels. It is a strapless modified A-line aka trumpet style ivory silk satin dress with a sweep train. My father (who is a tailor) put in a custom French bustle for me with 3 buttons, but he said it is easily altered to another bustle if you want to change it. I wore a sable-colored sash (not ML) and a crystal brooch with it. It is very simple but elegant. I got so many compliments about how beautiful it was. It was been professionally cleaned and preserved in a box.
