Hi Everyone! So the good news is I'm a little more than a "student" as far as photography is concerned. I graduated from a NY college with a fine-art minor, for which I did already take and complete photography courses, and have been paid for photos published in local newspapers and magazines I worked for as a journalist. Though I have been a professional journalist for many years, I recently decided to take a few more courses and really pursue wedding photography as a new career.
The bad news is, I have pretty much no wedding-photography portfolio to show. It's because of this that I am offering to do FREE engagement photos for anyone living in the Northeastern Pennyslvania area. Then, if you REALLY like my work, I have vowed to do my first actual wedding for free as well. If you're the first one to take me up on it, then I'll let you know if that offer is available to you, if you're not, well, I'd maybe charge $150-$200 to do your wedding, (provided it is local enough).

* Have photoshop skills (to a degree, I can't remove major objects, but I can correct small details and do cool effects and enhancements).
* Worked for trade photography magazines for two years, and at least KNOW what good photos are, unlike some photographers who are charging thousands for photos that look like digital snapshots.
* Will offer a CD of the best photos from your shoot.
* Everything for free!
I already have a photographer for my wedding, but I do live in NEPA if you need to do engagemt pics for experience. I did have a few minimal ones done awhile back, but will do some more if you need the experience. ginabav@hotmail.com

We're in Cherry Hill. Pics around Philly would be cool. We aren't typically into the cutesy engagement photos, so we'd be perfect for experimenting with different types of shots.
A session in Northern Liberties or Rittenhouse area could be cool.

posted by adriennec 3 weeks agoit's too early for me to be making photography plans, but if it weren't, you can bet I'd be paying your gas to either DC or Michigan :) cause I'd love to meet up with one of my WB 'friends' and help you gain some experience :)

posted by pmerr 2 weeks agoIf I wouldn't have to pay for your gas I would so make the FI do this! (He wouldn't approve of it-we already had some done really cheap-and wouldn't want to pay for gas to have second ones done (haha he already had to do it once!!))
Pmerr, how far are you? If you are local enough, I'm not even charging for gas for the first three e-shoots.
@daydream, you are one of my favorite wedding-bee friends! I was actually hoping some friends would be able to help me out. Unfortunately, we are all from all over the place! I would totally drive it too... :)
