First of all...it's only slander if it's SPOKEN. It's libel if it's written. Second, it's not libel if what they're saying is true. It's called their opinion based on their personal experience with you. Also known as a customer review.
I'm new to Weddingbee and I was a little surprised when I came across this thread.
My fiance and I hired Jeff for our wedding day pictures. He was actually recommended by our videographer. Anyway, we emailed back and forth a couple of times and decided to meet up at a nearby coffee place to go over the details and pricing.
Honest first impression...Jeff was very easy going, talks a lot, and...a nerd =). He showed us some recent pictures and both my fiancé and I were blown away. His pictures were gorgeous. We booked him immediately on the spot. This was back in November, 2009.
We just had our engagement session a few days ago and I can only say that it was way beyond our expectations. Originally, I was expecting something very simple or rather, minimal, due to our tight budget (and I need to stress that it’s small budget). I was expecting maybe two hours around home with one or two outfits. But I was totally wrong. Jeff called me twice (and emailed a bunch of times) during the week regarding outfits, time, and location. We ended up with 5 outfits and a whoooolleeee day in Santa Barbara (we live in OC). He arrived about an hour earlier than us so that he can do some location scouting. We shot at the mission, the courthouse, a field, and at the Knapp’s Castle. The view was absolutely breathtaking.
We all had a great time and didn’t get home until midnight. Jeff took more than a thousand pictures and 51 of them were ready (and I mean READY… color corrected, edited, with awesome effects) to be viewed by the next morning at 9 AM. Jeff has also offered to continue with the engagement session in a few days so that we can have some beach shots.
Ladies, I honestly don’t know what to say… I mean, I do understand your frustration, because I mean this is important to us…and I would be extremely upset if I can’t seem to contact my photographer or if I’m being ignored. But I honestly think there are some misunderstandings here. Jeff is a first generation Korean. He has a Korean accent and may not express himself in the same ways we are all familiar with. However, this shouldn’t be held against him and if something is unclear, please ask until you get a clear answer.
And Jeff, if you do happen to read this…please understand where the ladies are coming from and maybe set a communication channel during your initial meeting. Communication is always the key =).
Ladies, Jeff seems to respond very quickly and effectively through text messaging, maybe this will help you?
I don’t typically participate in online discussions (actually never). I just had such an amazing experience and it would be such a pity if this was all a misunderstanding.
Anyway, I hope everything will work out for all you beautiful brides out there!
