Beautiful vintage inspired wedding dress by Australian designer Louise Alvarez. Original cost over $4,000 (US), used dresses by this designer usually sell for $2,000. I will sell for best offer (really, all offers considered--I bought multiple dresses and need to pass a couple of them along!) as dress could use a little attention as described below. Dress has been worn only once (not by me, I bought it used but decided to go with a different style). Dress is made of thick Duchess satin with a tulle overlay hand beaded with tiny pearl beads in flower patterns. Think couture version of Alfred Angelo style 2000. Overlay extends past satin of dress, showing off intricate beadwork. There is a satin train in the back that can be bustled or held with the attached loop. Low v-back with a row of gorgeous satin-covered buttons. Attached (thin) silk petticoat edged in French lace (not seen when worn). The bodice is lightly boned. The beads and embroidery are in great shape--I haven't found any that are not intact. I believe the gown will fit a street size 14 or 16 (at least). Lots of room in the bust. (I am a street size 12, C cup and the gown was at least one to two sizes too big, but could have been altered to fit my size). Also, I am 6 feet tall and the gown was just the right length with a 1/4" heel, so there is plenty of length. The color is blush, although to my eye it looks like the color US stores call ivory. The flaws: The dress does not appear to have been cleaned, although spot cleaning may have been attempted as there is a light stain under one arm and a rough spot in the satin there (I will photograph this). Very light dirt (in my opinion unnoticeable) at the hem where dress trailed on ground. At one spot on bottom hem there are a few very small black marks, which I will photograph. There is another, larger, very light stain at a fold in the train (perhaps a few inches wide? hard to tell because it's hard to see) that I didn't even notice after trying on the dress multiple times, but that I'm guessing might be easily removed with dry cleaning. I will try to photograph this one as well and see if it will show up. I didn't notice these until I had the dress off and was going over it inch by inch--even after I discovered them, I had no plans to get them cleaned before wearing the dress (although I'm guessing they would come out easily if dry cleaned--I don't know much about dry cleaning wedding dresses though). I wasn't told this when I purchased the dress, but in my opinion the satin sash at the waist band could use a few more small stitches on one side to hold the folds in their correct places. Similarly, I would add a few more stitches at the base of one of the straps--the strap itself appears to still be sewn on firmly but the lining of the dress should be slightly tighter in covering the base of the strap (this is on the inside of the dress, not something visible when wearing). Ok, I've tried to be as detailed as I could, but will happily answer any questions. U.S. sales only, please. PM me or reply here with your email address for pictures!
