This is an absolutely gorgeous Monique Lhuillier Celestine gown and bolero from her Fall 2008 Collection. They were worn once by me on my wedding day in July 2009.The dress is a beautiful and unique strapless ivory floor-length gown, with an asymmetrically draped bodice and tiered skirt. The dress is made of English silk tulle netting with a beautiful and flattering sweeping bubble hem. The bolero is made of polished silk tulle and is embellished with pearls and crystals. The gown and bolero have been featured in InStyle magazine, Martha Stewart Weddings and countless other. It is high-fashion, yet romantic, beautiful and whimsical.
The gown was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis. It was altered slightly by Saks to accommodate my height - I am 5’2” and wore 3” heels. The buttons on the belt were taken in slightly, but can easily be replaced in their original position. The dress has also been bustled. The bolero jacket is also a Size 4, has not been altered in any way.
The bolero jacket is in perfect condition, and the gown is in near perfect condition. There are slight signs of wear (minor staining and snags) on the train of the silk slip dress and along the bottom hemline which did not come out with cleaning, but would be undetectable while wearing. The body of the gown has a few minor pulls and snags in the tulle, but detectable only very close up.The gown has been professionally cleaned, preserved and restored by J. Scheer & Company in New York (service worth over $700).
I will include an ivory fingertip length veil with the purchase of this dress, if you are interested. The veil was also purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I am willing to sell the dress alone (without the bolero) for $4,000.However, the bolero is not available separately.
My wedding was featured online at Snippet & Ink, Lucky Me Designs, Carrie Patterson Photography and With This Ring.See links below.
